Privacy Policy

Effective June 29, 2026 · Last updated June 29, 2026

Lumi is built around one idea: your photos are yours. Everything the app does to your library happens on your device — your pictures are never uploaded, never sent to us, and never shared with anyone. This page explains, plainly, the little bit of data we do handle.

The short version

  • Your photos never leave your phone. All scanning, sorting, and cleanup runs on-device. We can't see your images.
  • No accounts, no ads, no selling data. You don't sign up for anything, and we never sell or rent your information.
  • The only data we collect is anonymous usage — counts and timings that help us improve the app — and you can turn it off in Settings.
  • No cross-app tracking. Lumi uses no advertising identifiers and shows no "Allow tracking" prompt.

Your photos & library

To help you free up space, Lumi needs permission to access your photo library. Everything it does with that access — finding blurry shots, duplicates, screenshots, and large files, and scoring what's worth keeping — happens entirely on your device.

Your photos, videos, and any information derived from them are never uploaded to us or to any third party. We operate no server that receives your images. Lumi's analytics layer is built so that it can never see image content, filenames, or photo identifiers.

When you delete photos in Lumi, they go to your device's "Recently Deleted" album and remain recoverable for 30 days, exactly as they would if you deleted them in Apple Photos. Lumi doesn't keep its own copy.

You can grant full or limited photo access, and you can change or revoke it any time in iOS Settings.

Data the app collects

With your permission, Lumi collects anonymous, aggregated usage analytics so we can understand how the app is used and make it better. This is processed by Amplitude, a product-analytics service acting as our processor (see Service providers).

What this includes

  • App opens and which tabs are viewed
  • Photo-permission outcome (granted / limited)
  • Scan activity — how long a scan took, how many items were scanned, and how much space is freeable (as totals only)
  • Cleanup activity — how many photos were removed and how much space was freed
  • Paywall and purchase events (e.g., which plan, success or failure)

What this never includes

  • Your photos or videos, or anything derived from their content
  • Filenames, asset identifiers, dates, or locations of specific photos
  • Your name, email, phone number, or contacts
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA) or any cross-app tracking

The events are counts, durations, and simple categories only. Because Lumi has no account system, this data is not linked to your identity and is reported to us in aggregate.

Turning it off

You can disable usage analytics at any time in Settings → Privacy → "Share anonymous usage data." When it's off, nothing is sent anywhere.

Data the website collects

Our website (lumiswipe.com) is intentionally minimal. It uses no cookies, sets up no accounts, and currently has no forms — we don't ask for or store your email address.

Cookieless analytics

To understand which pages are useful, we use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookieless service. It records aggregate figures only — such as page views, referring site, approximate country, and device type — with no cookies and no personal data, so it can't identify or follow you across sites. That's why you won't see a cookie banner.

Fonts & hosting

The site's fonts are self-hosted, so your browser never contacts Google (or any third party) to display this page. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep brief server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability; these are not used to build a profile of you.

Purchases & subscriptions

Lumi's paid features are sold through the Apple App Store. When you buy or subscribe, Apple processes the payment — we never see or store your card number or billing details.

We receive Apple's anonymized confirmation that a purchase happened so we can unlock your features and validate your subscription. You can manage or cancel a subscription any time in your Apple account settings. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

What we never do

  • We never upload, store, or look at your photos or videos.
  • We never sell, rent, or trade your data.
  • We never show ads or use advertising/marketing trackers.
  • We never use cross-app tracking or advertising identifiers.
  • We never build an advertising profile of you.
  • We never require an account or ask for your contacts.

Service providers

We keep outside services to a minimum. The ones we rely on act as our processors and only handle the limited data described below:

ProviderPurposeData involvedRegion
Apple App distribution, in-app purchases, Photos access Anonymized purchase confirmations; no payment details shared with us Global
Amplitude Anonymous in-app usage analytics Aggregated event counts & durations; no photos, no account, no ad IDs United States
Plausible Analytics Cookieless website analytics Aggregate page views, referrer, country, device type; no cookies, no personal data European Union
Website host Serving this website Short-lived server logs (IP, browser type) for security —

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live — including under the EU/UK GDPR and California's CCPA/CPRA — you have rights over your personal data, such as the right to access, correct, or delete it, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing."

Because Lumi has no accounts and doesn't tie data to your identity, we usually hold no personal information that could identify you, and we never sell or share data for advertising. The most direct control is built in:

  • Opt out of app analytics in Settings → Privacy.
  • Revoke photo access any time in iOS Settings.
  • Manage purchases through your Apple account.

To make any privacy request or ask a question, email us at privacy@lumiswipe.com and we'll respond within the time your local law requires.

Children

Lumi is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we'll address it.

Security

We protect your information by collecting as little as possible in the first place. Photo processing stays on your device, our website is served over HTTPS, and the limited analytics we use is anonymous and aggregated. No method of transmission or storage is ever perfectly secure, but minimal data is the strongest protection we can offer.

International transfers

Some of our processors operate outside your country — for example, Amplitude is based in the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, it's done under appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses). As described above, the data involved is anonymous and aggregated.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continuing to use Lumi after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Contact

Lumi is built by an independent developer based in Israel. This policy is governed by the laws of Israel, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
